Kids Beginner Sewing - Summer
Kids ages 8 and up can learn to thread a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, and work on sewing straight lines, all while making some great projects! A pillow case, a 9 patch treasure bag, strip-work pillow, a snap bag, and a frayed edge quilt will all be made over 5 2.5 hour classes. Kids will learn to do a back stitch, a pivot, a 1/4 inch seam, a french seam, try to master a straight line and use an iron.

| Skill Details: | 8 years and older, 6 or 7 year olds can come if they have a parent/helper stay with them |
| Materials Included: | Fabric for the pillow, 9 patch bag, and snap bag are inlcuded. You will need to purchase fabric for the rag quilt and pillow case, as well as a pillow form. |

| Instructor Bio: | Hi, I’m Ericka I got my first sewing machine when I was eight years old, and I’ve been sewing and quilting ever since! What started as a fun hobby turned into a real passion—and since 2014, I’ve been teaching others how to sew, too. I teach both kids and adults, sometimes even in schools and with special needs students. As a mom of four, I know how to keep things fun, flexible, and encouraging for all ages and learning styles. I especially love quilting, making baby clothes, and crocheting whenever I can find a quiet moment. These days, I get to do what I love every day with my mom—we’re partners at Thread and Paper, and it’s such a joy to create and teach together. Whether you’re brand new to sewing or just looking to learn something new, I’m always excited to help others get inspired and feel confident behind the machine! |
